DAVIE–It’s hard to imagine NFL players preoccupying themselves with preseason rankings and lists, but sometimes those are too irritating to simply ignore.

That’s how Dolphins receiver Jarvis Landry feels about landing No. 98 on NFL.com’s Top 100 Players, which was determined by player voting. Seventeen of the players ahead of him are wide receivers.

As a way of making sure he remembers where he peers placed him, Landry keeps a sign (printed up by team staffer Kaleb Thornhill) taped on his locker. It’s a photo of him with “97?” superimposed next to him.

“It’s my preseason motivation,” Landry said. “Ninety-seven slots to go.”

Does it actually motivate him?”

“Of course,” he said. “I see it every day.”
