BALTIMORE — Miami Dolphins wide receiver DeVante Parker will be active in Sunday’s game at the Ravens, a league source confirmed.
Parker did not practice this week after leaving last week’s 49ers game with a back injury. But he impressed coach Adam Gase enough in an intense pregame warmup routine to get the call.
Parker caught passes from backup quarterback Matt Moore as Gase and executives Mike Tannenbaum and Chris Grier watched closely.
In the last three games, Parker has caught 16 passes for 246 yards and 1 touchdown.
Coaches indicated this week that they were preparing to play without Parker and that Rashawn Scott, promoted from the practice squad, was preparing to play.
Earlier in the season, Parker was called out by Gase for needing to learn how to play through pain. But on Friday, Gase signaled that Parker wanted to play and did not want to let his teammates down.
