DAVIE–This is a really bad time to be missing linebackers. The Dolphins were without Kiko Alonso and Jelani Jenkins for this afternoon’s practice as they get ready to face one of the best running backs in the league in Arizona’s David Johnson.
Alonso underwent thumb surgery this week, and his status remains unknown. He was on the field during the portion of practice open to the media, but was not wearing a helmet and did not participate. Jenkins, who has battled a variety of injuries, headed into the building after stretching.
Miami center Mike Pouncey (hip) remains out and won’t play this weekend. Defensive end Mario Williams (ankle) also did not participate.
Wide receiver DeVante Parker (back) and safety Isa Abdul-Quddus (neck) practiced in caution jerseys. Cornerback Xavien Howard and defensive end Dion Jordan were full participants in the open portion.
Toward the end of the media viewing, running back Damien Williams came up limping at the end of the play, but it appeared he would continue practicing. Dolphins coach Adam Gase will be available later this afternoon to discuss injuries.
