ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Matt Moore is 2-0 as the quarterback of the Miami Dolphins this season, and he led the team to an overtime victory at Buffalo on Saturday.

But Moore had a poor first half (5-for-14, 57 yards, 1 interception) and in typical Adam Gase fashion, the Dolphins’ first-year coach blamed himself.

“Early, I didn’t get him in a very good rhythm,” Gase said. “I was a little spotty when we were going into the wind.”

Gase has blamed himself almost any time the Dolphins have struggled offensively this season.

In the second half and overtime, Moore was 9-for-16 for 176 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions.

Moore agreed the wind was a factor early.

“It was challenging,” Moore said. “But, short throws it wasn’t bad, but it definitely played a part in the ballgame. Not by anything crazy but you just had to be aware of it.”

As Miami was closing in on halftime, Moore made a poor decision, forcing a pass into the end zone that was intended for Kenny Stills, but intercepted.

A made field goal could have put the Dolphins ahead 17-7 at that point.

At the end of regulation, Moore helped lead Miami from their own 15-yard line with 4:00 left into field goal position to tie the game.

With 1:07 left, Moore hit Stills on a key 17-yard completion.

Though Miami leaned on Jay Ajayi in this game, Moore did complete passes of 56 yards (DeVante Parker), 44 yards (Damien Williams), 17 yards (Stills) and 15 yards (Jarvis Landry, Parker and Stills).

And most importantly, with Ryan Tannehill out, Moore has steered the Dolphins into playoff position.

“It’s a team,” Moore said. “This is a true team.”
