• Ryan Tannehill is using his information and his experience in the offense to help teammates at practice. He has a lot of opportunity to watch a lot more film and coaching guys up on the field. He’s helping correct mistakes. He’s another coach on the field.

• Tannehill throws it a little bit but is keeping his arm loose. But he really can’t move.

• We’re going to be smart with Tannehill. The doctors are going to have to assure Gase that Ryan can’t further hurt himself this year or put himself at risk to jeopardize next season before he returns.

• Points, third down efficiency and red zone efficiency are the most important factors to winning. Negative plays at the right time help.

• Nick Saban’s organizational skills as far as keeping people on track and making sure people are doing their job. Saban knew what everybody did, including graduate assistants. Gase doesn’t bother Saban during the season.

• Dan Marino is in the meetings as a good sounding board for the quarterbacks. He has a great perspective. Gase likes watching film with him. It’s interesting how much football has involved. He’s seen so much football over his time. He always gives the quarterbacks some piece of advice that seems so small at the time, but that’s the way he saw it. And the way he saw it was special. He’s not overbearing. He waits for you to come in. If a seam route is even close to being in there he’s always wanting the quarterback to bang it in there. Gase is like, ‘Dan, you could throw that one in there.’

• Every week it seems like Ndamukong Suh gets a game ball. So impactful. So disruptive. Changes the way you have to block everything. If he gets a 1-on-1 block he’s going to win.
