MIAMI GARDENS–Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham will always be bonded by their time as LSU teammates, and they might spend their entire NFL careers battling for the all-time catches record.
For starters, they closed out the 2016 season tied for most receptions in a player’s first three years. Beckham came in with a 283-279 lead, but Landry caught nine passes for 76 yards in the Dolphins’ 35-14 loss to the Patriots. Beckham had five for 44 to help the Giants beat the Redskins. That left them both tied at 288.
So what’s next? The four-year record, of course. Former Pahokee High School star Anquan Boldin caught 342 balls in his first four seasons. That means Beckham and Landry go into the 2017 season 54 catches away.
