LAKE BUENA VISTA—Several AFC players have marveled at Dolphins defensive end this week for making it back to the Pro Bowl after tearing his Achilles tendon the year before.
Denver linebacker Von Miller, arguably the best pass rusher in the game, was excited to see him back.
“I think it’s dope,” Miller said after this morning’s walk-through. “To be a great in the National Football League, you’ve got to overcome some adversity, and he’s done that time and time again in his career. He’s maintaining an elite level.
“From Day 1 I looked up to Cameron Wake. Once he got his opportunity to play with the Dolphins, I was a huge fan.”
Wake played just seven games in 2015, and many doubted whether he’d ever be anything close to the force he used to be. At 34 years old (he turns 35 on Monday), he put up 11.5 sacks in his comeback season.
