The Dolphins are looking for help at safety after a career-ending injury to Isa Abdul-Quddus, and their effort to find a new starter began today with the signing of Nate Allen.
Allen, a seven-year veteran, was a reserve for the Raiders last season and hasn’t been a full-time starter since 2014. He will likely compete against a rookie the Dolphins draft next month to play alongside strong safety Reshad Jones.
Allen spent five years with Philadelphia, most of which as a starter, before going to Oakland in 2015. Last season, he had 26 tackles, three passes defensed and two interceptions.
