Former Miami Dolphins linebacker Jelani Jenkins has signed with the Oakland Raiders, the club announced.

Jenkins was limited to nine games, seven starts, due to various injuries, including knee. Jenkins had 29 tackles after recording 80 and 50 tackles in the previous two seasons.

Jenkins simply couldn’t run as well as he had in previous seasons and he also missed too many tackles.

Jenkins, 25, was a fourth-round draft choice out of Florida in 2013. He had a salary cap hit of $1.8 million last season.

The Dolphins have added linebacker Lawrence Timmons and have scheduled a visit with free agent linebacker Zach Brown, formerly of the Buffalo Bills.

The Dolphins are also hoping linebacker Koa Misi rebounds from a neck injury and that developmental linebacker Neville Hewitt continues to show promise.
