As part of a league-wide initiative, the Dolphins will have several special announcements of their picks in the upcoming NFL Draft.
While Thursday’s first round will proceed as usual with picks being revealed by Roger Goodell at the podium, the guest announcers will start Friday. Dolphins Hall of Famer Larry Little, who did this in 2013 and ’14 as well, will deliver the team’s second-round choice.
Miami currently has four selections on Saturday, three in the fifth round and one in the seventh, and has three guests lined up. Jaden Piner, a 13-year-old actor from Norland Middle School who was in Moonlight, will read a pick from his school along with other cast members and his drama teacher, Tanisha Cidel.
The Dolphins also have former cornerback Pat Surtain and Carol City running back Nayquan Wright announcing a pick together, and former tight end Troy Drayton doing one with the flag football team that represented Miami at this year’s Pro Bowl.
Around the rest of the league, Jim Brown, Franco Harris, Jack Youngblood, Morris Chestnut, Jim Cramer and Mandy Moore are among those scheduled to announce selections.
