The good news keeps rolling in for Jay Ajayi.
A day after being ranked 69th on the list of the NFL’s Top 100 players, Ajayi checks in at No. 3 on the NFL Players Association list of 2017 “Future Top-Selling Stars” announced Tuesday.
The NFLPA ranks players by factors including 2016 on-field performances and fantasy league popularity to predict players ready to break out among next season’s top sellers in merchandise sales. All of which means the Dolphins ought to be busy churning out No. 23 jerseys now.
Running backs appear to be a hot item in general, because the top four are Arizona’s David Johnson, Atlanta’s Devonta Freeman, Ajayi and Chicago’s Jordan Howard.
Quarterbacks barely cracked the top 10, with Houston’s Deshaun Watson checking in at No. 9.
Ajayi’s spot on the NFL’s Top 100 list was announced Monday night on NFL Network. Defensive end Cameron Wake made the list for the fifth time, ranking 62nd.
