The Miami Dolphins announced they have signed rookie defensive end Charles Harris.

According to Spotrac, Harris’ deal should be worth approximately 4 years, $10.8 million with a $6 million signing bonus.

Harris was the 22nd pick in the NFL draft.

Harris had 18 sacks and 136 tackles in 38 games, including 25 starts.

Harris, 6-feet-3, 260 pounds, figures to begin his career as a rotational player as Miami has veterans Cameron Wake, Andre Branch and William Hayes under contract.

Among Harris’ strengths: An explosive first step, effective spin move, high character and self-motivation and a persistent motor.

After the draft, Harris said: “At the end of the day, it’s about what you’ve got in your heart. That’s what I’ve got. I’ve got heart. I’ve got a drive that’s nasty.”
