Tiger Woods wasn’t the only athlete with South Florida connections to face charges of impaired driving over the holiday weekend.
Former Dolphins cornerback Nolan Carroll, now with the Dallas Cowboys, was arrested on suspicion of driving while intoxicated in Dallas.
Ironically, Carroll was arrested about a half-mile from the site of a “welcome to Dallas party” that had been advertised on social media.
Carroll, 30, was the Dolphins’ fifth-round pick in 2010 who spent four seasons in Miami. He was a starter his final two seasons with the Dolphins, 2012-13, and had a total of 109 tackles and five interceptions in his four seasons here.
Carroll joined the Philadelphia Eagles before accepting a thee-year, $10 million ($4 million guaranteed) from Dallas.
The Sheriff’s Department said Carroll posted bond and was released.
