What Adam Gase said Monday after Miami Dolphins practice

Adaam Gase has dealt with a lot of injuries this offseason (Allen Eyestone /The Post)

Here is some of what Miami Dolphins coach Adam Gase said Monday:

• He does not have an update on Kenyan Drake yet.

• Julius Thomas (back) tightened up. Just precautionary.

• Xavien Howard is recognizing certain formations and gaining confidence. He’s taking the next step.

• Jay Cutler has the offense down. It’s more timing and mental.

• Gase says he is trending in the direction of playing Cutler Thursday.

• He is excited for Mike Pouncey. He doesn’t want Pouncey to sneak in a few extra reps. He needs to stay on track.

• The Dolphins plan to use Pouncey in either Week 2 or Week 3 preseason action.

• Gase wants more picks and fumbles created by the defense.

• Too early to think about how many offensive linemen on the 53-man roster.
