Two prominent Dolphins players have made it known that they would like to see recently released Pro Bowl cornerback Joe Haden in a Dolphins uniform.
Ndamukong Suh and Mike Pouncey took to Instagram to recruit Haden, who was released by the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday.
Piggybacking off of Pouncey’s Instagram post, which tagged Haden and was captioned “South Beach?” Suh reposted Pouncey’s photo on his own account and captioned the photo, “Yeah… South Beach,” followed by dolphin and palm-tree emojis.
The 28-year-old former first-round pick, who was set to make $11.1 million this season, is free to sign with any team after 4 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
If the Dolphins do choose to go after the veteran cornerback, they won’t be alone in their pursuit. Nor is it likely that that pursuit will last long, according to Haden’s agent Drew Rosenhaus.
“Tons of interest in him,” Rosenhaus told ESPN. “He will have a new deal with another team by tomorrow afternoon.”
