No Miami Dolphins protest during national anthem in season opener

CARSON, Calif.—Kneeling during the national anthem before games might be fully in the past for the Miami Dolphins.

When they lined up before today’s season opener against the Chargers, every player stood while Jordin Sparks delivered the Star-Spangled Banner. Kenny Stills and Michael Thomas, both of whom kneeled at every game last year, opted to stand.

Stills initially said he was done kneeling, then recently mentioned he was reconsidering. He stood on the sideline with his head down and hands folded.
