DAVIE–The Dolphins held their first practice of the week as they get ready for the Saints, and they’ve got a few injury concerns.
Much like the start of last week’s practices, Miami is holding a few players out for what appear to be precautionary reasons. Here are the latest updates:
–RB Jay Ajayi wasn’t on the field during the part of practice open to the media.
–LB Lawrence Timmons is practicing today after being reinstated from a team suspension Tuesday.
–DT Jordan Phillips is dressed for practiced, but it’s unclear how much he’ll participate. His left ankle is heavily taped. He spent the early part of practice doing lower-body agility drills on the side.
–LB Rey Maualuga is practicing for the first time since Week 1. He missed preseason time while trying to get in shape and has been out two weeks with a hamstring issue.
–S Nate Allen (hamstring) is practicing.
