Miami Dolphins: Do Rey Maualuga and Alterraun Verner plan to play?

LONDON — The Miami Dolphins have several injury questions headed into Sunday’s game against the Saints at Wembley Stadium.

Coming off the practice field on Friday, cornerback Alterraun Verner, who has been dealing with a hamstring injury, said he plans to play.

“I’m good,” Verner said, as he ran off the field quickly during an emerging rainstorm.

Verner was burned in his first defensive drive as a Dolphin last week, coming into the game cold to replace Byron Maxwell, who had an eye issue.

Linebacker Rey Maualuga indicated his hamstring figures to take at least another week.

“Hopefully next week,” Maualuga said. “Not sure I’m in the plan for this week.”

Maualuga’s conditioning is becoming less of an issue and he did some work in practice this week.

The need for Maualuga to play would seem lessened by the return of linebacker Lawrence Timmons, who is on track to make his Dolphins debut on Sunday.
