DAVIE–The Dolphins won’t be easing their way back into the regular workload after returning from London at the start of this week. Adam Gase is ready to run them.

“We just got beat 20-0,” he said. “We need to go to work.”

This is the first real day of practice in advance of Sunday’s home opener against the Titans. Here are some key updates for the Dolphins:

–No. 1 cornerback Xavien Howard did not practice. He worked on the side as he battles a shoulder problem.

–Defensive tackle Jordan Phillips (ankle) was dressed for practice and went through individual drills.

–Running back Jay Ajayi is doing individual work, though he might not be a full participant today as Miami tries to manage his workload.

–Wide receiver Kenny Stills (hand) practiced during the segment open to the media. He was catching passes, too.

–Linebacker Rey Maualuga practiced today. He’s been in and out with a hamstring injury and conditioning issues.
