The Dolphins made a big signing Tuesday.
The team signed offensive lineman Zach Sterup off the Cleveland Browns’ practice squad, his agent, Brett Tessler, announced on social media. Sterup is a 6-foot-9, 318-pound tackle who led his high school basketball team to three state titles in Nebraska.
His Cleveland Browns bio boasts, “Can change a lightbulb without a ladder.”
Sterup was a part-time starter for the Cornhuskers who originally was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Kansas City Chiefs in May 2016. The Chief cut him that August but he joined K.C.’s practice squad in November 2016. He also spent time on the Jets’ practice squad before heading to Cleveland in 2016.
The Dolphins are getting guard Ted Larsen off injured reserve but have injury concerns on the offensive line with right tackle Ja’Wuan James (hamstring).
