DEVELOPING: Miami Dolphins injury news involving key players

DAVIE — Several key Miami Dolphins players have returned to practice, at least on a limited basis, on Thursday.

Those players include: cornerback Cordrea Tankersley (shoulder/ankle), running back Damien Williams (shoulder), guard Jermon Bushrod (foot) and quarterback Matt Moore (foot).

Tankersley missed the Monday night upset of New England. Veteran Alterraun Verner played well in his place.

Williams has missed the last two games as Kenyan Drake has taken off as Miami’s starter.

Even if Bushrod is healthy enough to play, it may be hard to take Jesse Davis and Sam Young out of the lineup as they have come on at right guard and right tackle over the last week weeks.

If Moore can return to health, he would supplant David Fales as Miami’s backup quarterback.

Meanwhile, Mike Pouncey (hip) watched practice on the side, resting, meaning he’s not back to an every-day practice schedule.

Starting defensive end Andre Branch (knee) did not practice for a second consecutive game. This is of concern. If he were to miss any significant time it would be a big blow because Miami is already without defensive end William Hayes for the rest of the season.

Safety Michael Thomas (knee) watched practice from the side, while wearing a knee brace. Thomas decided he wanted to play through an injury that would have shut down many players.

Defensive linemen Ndamukong Suh and Cam Wake, who occasionally rest, participated in practice.
