What Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Matt Burke said Thursday before Bills game

Here is some of what Miami Dolphins defensive coordinator Matt Burke said Thursday:

• Ndamukong Suh played every single snap. It’s because of the way he prepares. They didn’t allow a lot of long drives. We never felt we had to roll him out of there.

• Burke went in depth on what he was thinking in the above photo. He called it a cathartic moment after four hours of straight high emotion. We’ll talk more about this in a future post.

• Burke used every blitz on his call sheet. You had to keep the Patriots off balance. They had to have answers.

• We want to play technique and play our defense.

• You can’t get too cute against LeSean McCoy because that can lead to trouble. McCoy is the best in the league at making people miss. He can stop on a dime and take it back the other way. He will make guys miss. Write it down now.

• Xavien Howard can shadow any receiver in the league. He’s made some spectacular plays. They have that confidence. We tried to tell you guys that.

• Howard had his hands on guys at the line of scrimmage.

• Man and press were on the uptick last game, because it was working. He looked out there and saw it working, so he rolled with it.

• The last time Burke faced McCoy in the snow, LeSean McCoy went off. It’s harder to keep your footing. They ran on third-and-10, so that’s great if it snows. It could be low-scoring. But you have to react to the offense and so that can slow you down.
