DAVIE — Here’s what Dolphins coach Adam Gase said Friday, a day before heading to Buffalo for a game vital to Miami’s playoff hopes:

  • Injury report: Andre Branch questionable; Jermon Bushrod out; MarQueis Gray is fine; Xavien Howard questionable; Matt Moore questionable; Cordrea Tankersley doubtful, Michael Thomas doubtful, Damien Williams also doubtful; Jordan Phillips questionable.
  • On having no bye: “I don’t know. I haven’t thought about it.”
  • On Bobby McCain playing outside and slot: “I don’t think it’s hard for him. He plays with no fear, no hesitation. He goes out and does the job.”
  • On defense’s third-down success of late: “It’s the whole group working together. It can’t just be the front, the linebackers, the DBs. If we can get the quarterback going from 1 to 2 (first option to second), more times than not, our line’s going to be there.”
  • On how third-down success was reached: “Guys have done good job in meetings, talking about how to fit things up, linebackers playing off D-line. … It’s that part of the season where everybody’s comfortable with each other.”
  • On Xavien Howard’s confidence growing: “Once you get two picks and take one for a touchdown — it doesn’t take much.” Says he had some bumps in the road but overcame them.
