From long shot to no shot: Oddsmaker drops Miami Dolphins from playoff wagering

DAVIE — The Dolphins say they’re still in the playoff chase, and mathematically they’re correct … if you go by the right math.

The offshore betting service Bovada (Bovada.lv) announced Wednesday that it’s wiping the Dolphins out of playoff consideration, even though, with the right circumstances, there’s still an outside chance Miami gets in.

Thanks to the loss last weekend in Buffalo, the Dolphins went from 500-1 to win the Super Bowl to “off the board,” according to Bovada. They’re also off the board to win the AFC title.

The favorites to win the Super Bowl are the Patriots (12-5), Vikings and Steelers (6-1), and Rams, Saints and Eagles (10-1).

The other teams dropping out of consideration this week were the Packers and Raiders.

The Dolphins still could make the playoffs by beating the Chiefs and Bills and with a long list of help.
