Miami Dolphins’ Adam Gase: ‘This thing’s not quite over yet’

DAVIE — Adam Gase is not ready to concede the 2017 Miami Dolphins season.

“We’re still in this season,” Gase said Wednesday. “This thing’s not quite over yet.”

Gase is technically right. Despite a 6-8 record, if Miami wins at Kansas City and against Buffalo, they’ve got a shot.

“We’ve got two games to make some strides here,” Gase said. “Win this one and go from there and see what happens.”

Gase said his players are aware they still have a chance.

“We just keep telling them, play until somebody tells you not to,” Gase said. “Our job is to win one game.”

If you are a Dolphins fan, it would be very helpful if the Ravens and Titans lost. Twice each.

Oh, and the Dolphins really need New England to beat Buffalo this week. Go Brady!

Oh, and it would help if the Raiders and Chargers lost, too.

So as for this weekend, here’s what you’re rooting for:

• Indianapolis Colts over Baltimore Ravens (Saturday)

• Miami Dolphins over Kansas City Chiefs (Sunday)

• New England Patriots over Buffalo Bills (Sunday)

• Los Angeles Rams over Tennessee Titans (Sunday)

• Philadelphia Eagles over Oakland Raiders (Monday)

If all this stuff happens, Miami would enter the final weekend with a 32 percent chance to make the playoffs.

And, if all this stuff happens and Miami were to win in the season finale, the odds would improve to 56 percent.

Not quite over yet.
