Miami Dolphins: Will Adam Gase make staff changes?

DAVIE — There was a potential offensive coaching staff hire in the building this week, Dowell Loggains, but Adam Gase indicated he’s in no hurry to shake up the Miami Dolphins coaching staff.

“We’re going through that process right now,” Gase said Wednesday. “I’m going to talk with all of these guys and have conversations with Mike (Tannenbaum) and Chris (Grier), and Mr. (Stephen) Ross. We’ll make decisions over the next probably week or so. I know this, we’re in no rush.”

After the season-ending loss to drop Miami to 6-10, owner Ross said he expects changes.

How a hiring of Loggains would impact offensive coordinator Clyde Christensen is unclear. Gase has made clear he does want to continue calling plays.

Miami ended the season ranked 25th on offense. The Dolphins’ offensive line struggled at times and wasn’t helped by the departure of offensive line coach Chris Foerster early in the season.

The Dolphins ended the season ranked 16th on defense. First-year defensive coordinator Matt Burke had some really good moments and others he wished he’d handled differently.

It is entirely possible that Gase makes more than one or two coaching staff changes.
