DAVIE — In about three hours, the Miami Dolphins will probably make the 11th selection in the 2018 NFL Draft.

The fans have spoken.

Who do they want? Georgia linebacker Roquan Smith, that’s who.

They want Raekwon & Roquan and there’s no way to know if it’s even possible, but it would be exciting. In a sense, Miami has an extra draft choice this year as linebacker Raekwon McMillan returns after losing all of last season with a knee injury.

In an unscientific poll conducted since yesterday by the Daily Dolphin, 52 percent of the 2,400-plus voters selected Smith as their preference, ahead of UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen (36 percent) and Virginia Tech linebacker Tremaine Edmunds (12 percent).

Those were the three options presented, because all are more realistic than Baker Mayfield, Josh Allen, Sam Darnold, Minkah Fitzpatrick and Saquon Barkley, all players Miami would obviously be very, very interested in.

Smith is a dynamic, explosive, play-making linebacker who can handle coverage and also chase from sideline-to-sideline and finish with authority. He could be an ideal replacement for departed linebacker Lawrence Timmons.

“My relentless pursuit,” Smith said at the NFL Scouting Combine, when asked to describe his strength. “I believe in that. I was always taught, if you start something, finish. And take advantage of every opportunity. And tomorrow is not promised. If it’s my last play that I ever play, how do I want to go out? So I feel like every play, I treat like it’s my last play. And I bust my tail like I don’t have a next play.”

Here’s a problem. Other teams in the Top 10 are very interested in Smith, too.

In the last mock draft of NFL Network’s Mike Mayock and ESPN’s Todd McShay, Smith goes 8th to the Chicago Bears. In Mel Kiper’s final mock draft, Smith goes 6th the Indianapolis Colts.

Miami can only hope. Cleveland is, almost, on the clock…
