‘Cabana boy’ Stephen Ross? Believe it or not, Miami Dolphins’ owner was one

Yo, Steve, can you fetch me a towel, some sunscreen and an umbrella drink?

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross made an interesting admission Friday while confirming that Barcelona will face Real Madrid at Hard Rock Stadium on July 29. The announcement was made during a splashy poolside news conference at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, which brought back memories for Ross that you never would have guessed.

Ross attended nearby Miami Beach High, and way back in 1958, he was just another student, so he took a summer job — at the legendary Fontainebleau.

“I worked here — really,” Ross said. “I was a beach boy here, a cabana boy.”

For all of us looking for a road map toward becoming a billionaire, there you have it.

“Believe it or not,” Ross said.
