The Miami Dolphins have re-signed backup quarterback David Fales, according to a league source.

Fales, 27, completed 29 of 43 passes for 265 yards, 1 touchdown and 1 interception last season.

The Dolphins’ starting quarterback this year is Ryan Tannehill and Brandon Doughty is still under contract.

None of this precludes the possibility Miami could still draft a quarterback next month.

Fales was a standout at San Jose State who played under Gase in Chicago.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported the move.
